How well do three child seats fit into the back seat of a Subaru Outback?
Specifically, I'd like to know if you may be able to fit two booster seats on each side and a rear facing baby seat in the middle? , then does a forward facing seat fit well between the booster seats?

I do not want any opinions on any other car models. just answer the question. If you haven't personally placed threee child seats in the back seat of an Outback, don't try TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION..

Yes. BUT the rear facing child is a nightmare to reach/tighten and the chairs get in the way with each other and don't sit flat on the seats. I brought it to a police station to see if they could help and they didn't recommend it but the officer helped me install everything and placed some cut up bubble pool noodles under the rear facing seat. We gave up and use two cars now till we choose on what minivan to purchase. Also had to move the drivers bench up more than I am comfy with to accommodate the center rear facing seat. in general a giant ache. Never tried with those smaller booster seats with no backs or five point straps although.

it's not safe to put more than two in the rear seat..3 will fit, but not safe

Sorry if this isn't useful, but. I place a guitar case on the back seat of my '06 Outback and it clears the doors easily. it is 48" large. I just thought that measurement may be useful also to anybody else's "real" answer.
