I am thinking of purchasing a D Reg Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible.?
It has full service history and 56k miles on the clock. The history is primarily Porsche dealer, except for the last two services. The car looks to be in excellent condition. What kind of price am I supposed to be paying for this car, and what are the major faults I should be looking for when purchasing this car? Any other info will be a great help, as I don't know anything about these cars. Thanks.

Why do people who think they know about 911s find as so pompous? Mrhan1 among others . Just because you like a car, doesn't mean you must be an expert, that's the whole function of asking the question in the 1st place.

D reg = 1985/1986.
I'd give it a miss unless you really want the Porsche look, modern cars costing a small percentage of the price will blow it into the weeds as far as performance goes. But if you're purchasing it as a classic then look up the prices on classic Porsches on fan websites see what other people are paying.

Save your money and purchase a Chevy. you will have lots more money left over and the car will be easier to fix, the insurance will be cheaper and you will be able to put more people in it at one time.

First off why could you want to purchase a car you know totally nothing about? 911's are for fan. Sadly enough lots of posers purchase them. You sound like the latter.
