I have a 1999 Ford Expedition, and when it has been parked it sounds like it's trying to start on its own?
It nearly sounds like a clanking sound some in a row, then stops, then starts up again, any ideas?

dale is right on if it has remote start.. on occasion if the starter solenoid is bad or the ignition switch is going bad, it'll because this same concern had one where a part in the steering column caused what you describe, but buyer tried fixing his truck before taking it to a shop and caused this issue on my end.
But my guess is the starter solenoid or something is engaging them to start.
BTW, there are two starter solenoid on this car that's supposed to stop this, but this issue does happen sometimes.

have a mechanic check it or it may be the cd player turning of on the computer or it may be your aircon turning off
