I have a 2000 MB 320 and the 1st four lights on the dash come on and the speedometer stops working?
The check engine light also comes on and it not changes gear

Which lights are illuminating? If it is the ABS, BRAKE and ESP lights, you most likely have a bad wheel speed sensor.

I could recommend finding a mechanic who can read fault codes from the ESP computer to pinpoint which sensor is bad. Otherwise, an MB dealer could be best equipped to diagnose it because they have the specific computer that will tell them exactly where the fault lies. it's a pretty inexpensive, easy fix if it's in fact a speed sensor.

You have two choices..

1. purchase a new car

2. Get it fixed.

sounds like the coils are going bad. take it to the shop.
