Was the system properly bled when the pads and calipers were replaced?
ABS light is one of two things. Low liquid or bad ABS wheel sensor.
Did you perform the brake job yourself? If so search for the correct bleeding information for your car.

The sensor that causes that light to come on may be bad.

The ABS light indicates you have a problem with the auto braking system .When the light is on your anti skid brakes won't work as intended, but will work as regular brakes. In other words your tires can lock up and skid in hard or wet braking conditions. This doesn't make your car undrivable it merly decreases a safety feature. This is typically caused by a bad sensor on a wheel or brakes that need replacing..George

this could simply be air still in the system or a bad sensor on one of the wheels will because this to happen also, what you have to do is have it scanned and see if it gives any trouble codes, and then you,ll have something to work from, this way were only guessing at it,but if you get a code on it,this may assist you in finding the problem with it,have it checked, before you use up any money on it,replacing parts may be really costly and wont generally crack the problem with it,good luck hope this helps.

people that think you have to bleed your brake sys after a brake job drive me totally freekin crazy if in was not leaking leave it alone and for those of you who are wondering where your brake liquid went and exceeded off your liquid reservoir I,ll tell you where it goes, down your fire wall into your little parts and wires and finally on the floor of the shop after we compress your calipers to do the brake job you put off a little too long, you have a bad wheel sensor more than probably unless you tryed to bleed your sys then you may have other issues

02 Astro could be Teves ABS, Light on= No abs.
Why is light on Get the dam. thing scanned and learn.
Did you do the brakes????? Did you open the caliper not caliber bleed screws when compressing the pistons and clamp off the brake line???? Did the shop that did the brakes do this MIDAS SUCKS .
Funny thing that on Teves ABS there's a pressure sensor that may be broken in the most costly part in your ABS system $1,000 when the pistons are compressed without bleeding the liquid off. HMMMMMM
get it scanned and see if that's the fault code??? yell and scream at the shop???? or stop doing home brake jobs.
ASE Cert Auto Tech, I learned ABS on big supersonic aircraft before cars had it. So I have been working on this crap since 1980.
