Series four 1986–1988 was available with a naturally aspirated, fuel injected 13B VDEI producing 146 hp 108 kW . An optional turbocharged model, called the Turbo II, had 182 hp 141 kW .
Series five 1989–1992 shown updated style and better engine management, also as lighter rotors and a higher compression percentage, 9.7:1 for the naturally aspirated model, and 9.0:1 for the turbo model. The Turbo II moniker has been dropped, and the turbocharged model was simply called Turbo. The naturally aspirated Series five FC made 160 hp 119 kW, while the Series five Turbo made 200 hp 147 kW .

1986 88 are Series four cars, while 1989 91 cars are Series five there was never a '92 RX7 .
The "bottom of the barrel" basic model is the only FC3S with four lug wheels. To bad for you, but they're the lightest.

I have an 1984 RX7..the starter motor haved problems, I spent a weekend working on it, that was August 28, 2005, I waited for Monday to get a new starter motor... it ended up flooded to the dashboard in Hurricane Katrina, which hit that morning. It was a lovely car, now just sits and looks great if you do not lift the hood. I am just trying to pay attention to the starter motor and get it fixed or replaced at the 1st sign of hesitation.
