V4's aren't usually made if ever anymore, were for awhile in the 60's, but now we have I four Inline four cylinder . Now to answer your question, take the loss on the trade in for the 6s, you won't be able to exchange out the engine in the four cylinder for a reasonable cost. Think about not only the engine itself but you have the ECU, transmission, springs, shocks, and other forms of reinforcment/beefier things for the V6. Check out Hiboost turbo kits, for $4500 you may be pwning V6's in the turns well you may be able to do that stock, and blow them away in the straightline. If naturally aspirated is your game, intake/headers/midpipe have shown to produce gains that will make the four cylinder dyno exactly the same as a V6 manual Mazda 6. Exhaust gains on the Mazda six are negligible at best, you'll only be buying the exhaust for sound and no performance, the catback while heavy, is well intended with little restriction. Oh, and engine trades will void your warranty on everything except for possibly paint defects, it effects everything.

ahh,If you want a v6 why not purchase that model,Mazda offers a v6 in that year and model or you may be able to trade yours in on the NEW 2007 mazda six speed edition equipped with turbo charged, all wheel drive rocket, already set up and under warranty five years 60,000 miles. If you do any mods to your car it'll void your warranty. good luck .
