if you gonna do header then you may want to also get intake and catback exhaust. if you can not do all that an once. then what I could do is intake 1st then catback then header. nope you not gonna damage you are engine. I could go with comptech or some well recognized name. don't go cheap. oh and you may want to look into sun hyper ground and voltage system. that's a money well spent. I got 05 tl and nobody makes header for it. but I got all other mod done and its working well. good luck.

Headers will give your car somewhat a bit more power, because it frees the air coming out from the engine, but besides a nicer sounding exhaust note, there is not much power to be felt, you may want to attempt to get a cold air intake / short air ram, the short air ram/intake will typically give your car more air earlier, allowing a increase in the lower rpm, so, you'll feel a pull earlier on better acceleration but not dramatic improvement. For a cold air intake, the engine gets cold air in the higher rpm, meaning you get higher top speed, increase maybe four 5mph, and in general hp improvement on both may be around five ten hp? Hopes that assists. :

aside from voiding your warranty, it'll throw an engine light and mess up the ECM. Save the fast and furry stuff for an older car, not a new and costly one. If you have cash to burn send it to a professional tuning shop and go wild.

Here is the deal being you have a bas rsx, the best setup to run header wise Our cars have a header, not headers is a shorty header and a test pipe. Something like the Strup shorty header and testpipe is great. It Gives you more low to mid range power, being how the car is geared it optimizes the powerband more then a raceheader could.

Now you'll run into Check Engin Lights CELs, only if you're running the race header or test pipe. If you were just running the Shorty header and stock cat. you have nothing to worry about. If you were to run the shorty+TP setup or Raceheader you'll get CELs. to fix this it'll cost you about $15 just picking up a sparkplug defouler will fix the problem ClubRSX user Kabe sells them for $15 shipped .

You will get some gains and the butt dyno will tell you you have gainted HP, and you'll get a great sound out of it. Install prices differs, If you know people all the better, you may be able to do it your self if you have the tools and a friend. Without you're looking at one two hours of work.

You also got to remember you're going to have to get motormounts, im not sure about the shorty+tp, but with the Raceheader you need the firmer engine mounts.

If you ask around at the average rate of $80/hour you may want to be looking at about $150 $200 for a install of motormounts and the header. If you have friend who go to certain shops they may be able to get you a discount.or you may be able to find some one to assist you out who may have the tools.

Depending on what mods you now have It can be a good mod. The factory header is OK but the increase comes with the enlarged collector part that bolts to the cat . Not the primaries Tubes coming out of engine .

Look into a good brand like Comptech, DC etc. they are Carb legal and don't mess anything up, as well as emissions.

Not going to be a big change and should not cost too much to install. You could do it you self and save some dollars. Or log on to Honda tech.com and see if any locals will come out and assist you with the install for less $ than a shop. Honda people are everywhere. Like anybody else shops included just gotta watch who you trust.

If this is the 1st mod I could really think about to get the intake and catback exhaust 1st. Plus best power get per dollar is prolly going to be a high flow cat.

Good luck,
KC
