I just bought a 2005 pacifica and everything works great on it except when you shut the car off the dash lights stay on and sooner or later drain the batterie.so what I have been having to do it when I shut the car off I have to unhook the batterie. Any ideas why this could do this?

I found a confirmed fix for that exact indication in IDENTIFIX.

It may be caused by an open power wire to the Body Control Module or in this case a flawed Integrated Power Module.

Here it's...

This applies only to vehicles not equipped with a navigation system. When the car is shut off and all of the doors are closed, the Instrument Cluster IPC remains on. The battery may go dead. The dome lamps only work with the key on.

Tests/Procedures: 1. Check the A114 circuit power supply to the Body Control Module BCM, and this is a Gray/Red wire located in the C2 connector at pin #18. The BCM is in the left side of the dash to the left of the parking brake assembly. It has five connectors going to it. The C2 connector holds 34 cavities with only twelve of the cavities containing wires. The connector housing is Black and Green.

2. When testing this power supply, use a light bulb to load the circuit. Connect one side of the bulb to ground and backprobe the Gray/Red wire. The bulb should be lit brightly with key off.

3. This power supply to the BCM can be missing, weak, or going away intermittently. examine the wiring harness and connectors below the Integrated Power Module IPM for corrosion.

Potential Causes: Integrated Power Module IPM Wiring

Tech Tips: Vehicles without the Navigation unit don't have splice S302 as shown on the wiring chart. there's another splice located eight inches from the rubber grommet on the firewall where the major harness comes through. Because of this place, this splice isn't probably the problem unless water has gotten into the harness.

Diagnostic Codes: None
