I just bought a cadillac catera and I need <span title="help.......?">help........
when I am driving the light of the hand brake keeps turning on and off what is this? and every time I get to a black place the lights turn on they self and the radio lights and the whole inside lights go off is this normal?

The parking brake automatically releases when you put the car in gear so grab the parking brake pedal and pull it towards you..I bet the light goes off..needs minor modification.
The lights are supposed to do that via a sensor which turns them on or off. Look at your headlight switch on the dash it is prolly in the "ON" position.which is good.you do not have to worry about lighting.

the hand brake light is not normal it may not be released all the way, the other lights are on a sensor and they cut on when it gets black,you have to read the holders manual for this car,it explains all of this in it,then you,ll know how all of this stuff works on that car,good luck with it

NEVER purchase a Cadillac, new or used.

hi the brake light .. handbrake light. coming on means one of a couple of things...
One you need new brakes pads .. cadillacs have sensors on the pads tell you have to renew them.
Or... pop the hood look check the brake liquid and fill if low.. if its ok check the cap and be sure the float is ok and that it doesnt have liquid in it.
about the lights.. look near the switch on the facia for the lights .. there will be a slider or a round switch which has a button near it.. turn this button clock wise and when your lights come on the lights on the facia and radio will remain on for you in the black..
