My friend has one. REALLY FAST.. He's had it up to about 145mph I think. His is a '95 or '96, I do not remember. but, he's ragged that car out. it'll not run idle, he's to constantly rev it. he's had many problems with his, but again he doesn't treat his car well at all.

The Mitsubishi 3000GT Dodge Stealth is the same thing, is a pretty darn good car. particularly the VR four Twin Turbo trim. The engine model code 6G72 was made by the DSM company. The car, as you may know, has been featuredin Gran Turismo as the Mitsubishi GTO.
I do not know much about the engine other than they are a strong work horse. What you put into it, you will certainly get out of it. All wheel drive is a certain perk to this car.
You've got to treat the car with certain respect as it's a sports car with around 276 hp I am not sure if that is at the flywheel or at the wheels .
I personally could recommend the car, but, if you can not end up to get one, you may be able to surely find a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX AWD and turbo, Eagle Talon TSi AWD, Plymouth Laser RS Turbo AWD. All the same car with minor cosmetic differences. Those vehicles are lighter than the 3000GT/Stealth given that they are shorter and have a smaller engine Inline four engine code 4G63T .

The other answers given are dead on correct. but, I'd like to add that they're pretty costly for substitute parts particularly the high tech VR4. Some parts may be hard to find being that the last model made was in 1999.
