I have a 1988 300e class. My seat modification just stopped working. it'll go forward and back for the leg room but it'll not recline. Yesterday it worked good. it'll also go up and down. they're good except it'll not recline forward or back. Help?

Have you checked the holders manual? presuming it moves up and down it must be an electric seat so the fuse isn't blown. so check the wiring for a loose connection, if you're useful. If not, take it to a dependable garage to fix it for you. Yesterday is far away so bring back my yesterday.

the backrest motor must be flawed if you can not feel any motion or clicking sound.

the switch isn't loose and feel right?

That car has different motors and cables to move it so from the sounds of it the cable or motor that moves the seat back is bad.
