I want a impreza s.t.i. but do a high mileage of 20Kmiles a year, can anybody tell me of possible running costs? an s.t.i. impreza or a regular W.R.X.??? HELP .
Don't know, but if you are putting that many miles on it, there will be maintenance ever three years. I personally could get the Impreza without the turbo and see if you may be able to order the 2.5 with single over head cam. This will let you to change the timing belt by yourself and the elimination of the turbo will eliminate future problems with the turbo also as save you lots of fuel. Good luck. I have a 95 Legacy with the 2.2 in it and just don't have any problems. 205K miles.
im selling my import sti8. great car. imports need a high octane petrol plus an octane booster. british cars don't so this can add up. but keep the turbo down and its not too bad. you may average around 22mpg.
Since they're just the same car, your costs will be across the board, with the exemption of fuel cost and of course the 7k difference in car cost . I drive usually city and I am lucky to get 16mpg out of my STi, but that is just the way I drive.
If you planning on keeping it stock, with as many miles as you will be putting on it, I'd go with the standard WRX. The ride is softer.
brake pads 200 quid fitted group 20 insurance 90 quid plus per tyre may only last 4500 miles cam belt change 800+ sevicig 250 to 600 quid but if you enjoy driving and can pay for it good luck not forgetting super unleaded at 105 per litre 15 to 22 to the gallon ouch
