Money isn't an choice. I'll spare no expense I'll purchase a new engine . I want a powerful engine, the best intake possible and the most technologically advanced transmission system available.just send me a shopping list.

For the transmission, go ahead and go to idea z performance',s web site and order yourself the 98+ specification transmission that has better, stronger synchros than the stock 9096 trannys. Then for the intake, get yourself the JWT Pop Charger. it's the most used, and suggested intake system for the NA 300ZX and track tested by JWT. Then go with all the screw ons possible like headers AMS, Stillen, catback exhaust GReddy, HKS, Labree, B&,B, and test pipes. Next you'll want to brighten up your drivetrain. To do that, you'll want a one part drive shaft Z1, lightweight pulleys and underdrive pulley ASP, you are, race clutch of some sort, and a lightweight flywheel Fidanza . All of these parts may be bought from Z1, idea Z, Import Parts Pro, and AMS. Then move on to the suspension and get some coilovers, tension rods, front control arms, and rear adjustable control arms. These suspension parts may be bought from 300ZX vendors like Powertrix and SPL. 300ZXs have great possible in turning when the suspension is upgraded. you'll leave exotic cars in the dust at the track with suspension mods. Then stiffen up the chassis with strut bars, Stillen sway bars, and fender bars which may also be found at SPL and Powertrix. To make the best use of all your power mods, get yourself a tuned ECU from either Z1 or idea z. Then get a Apexi SAFC controller so you may be able to tune it at the dyno. Don',t forget all the little things like suspension bushings, rear subframe spacers, short throw shifter, and bronze shifter bushings. Join 300zxclub.com and you',ll have a library full of things that you may check out and see what other 300zx holders have done to their cars.

300ZX have problems when turning hard oil accumulates in the cly head and motor starts to smoke and bearing failure. Pushed harder the front suspension flexes the body and inner fender. Sports car racing parts suppliers will give tires and parts to new model car racers. An old 16 year old design may not get enough factory and aftermarket support to race competitively. Start with a 370z and roll cage suspension and fire suppression system racing seats and some number of sets of forged wheels wet tires racing slicks and another set of each. A lightened 370Z with suspension and sway bars may be compete well if you know how to drive. Good Luck

Are you a die hard Z fan?

What kind of racing do you want to do?

Do you have any driver experience ?

So far what have you decided what mods you want to do?

We can send you a list to make your car run five sec 1/4',s, but if you want to, autocross, time attack or drift your car could be worthless.

I think most of the questions on answers are kids dreaming. Both answers above are great, particularly the second post. Stillen Motorsports makes a lot of parts for the fairlady and there are a lot of die hard shops that still make parts also because they love the Z. There are thousands of ways to build a car but you have to figure out what kind of courses you want to run and how much power you have to be competitive then start from there. Suspension and handling should generally be 1st IMO. Then small performance up grades then brakes when your beyond your capability as talk about lastly after you know your car then add the big power upgrades.
