This is the correct way to dabadge. Take a hair dryer and heat up the badge for a while. Then take some dental floss and gradually work it under the badge and gradually slide in underneath the complete badge. You may want to continue to use the hair dryer while you do this. When it comes off it'll most probably leave old sticky, which may be removed by using some bug and tar remover or goof off type stuff. Polish and wax when its clean. there aren't holes underneath.

There are solvants that you may get at places like autozone or advanced auto. Any sales person could give you the brand name. The chrome letters may become unusable after that, but as far as the paint goes it wont get scratched.

If they're bolted on, there will be a nut on the back side of the panel. Of course there will be holes in the metal when you're done. If they're glued on, take a heat gun or a hair dryer and heat the letters till the glue starts to let loose, then simply clean up the glue residue with solvent.

slowly soak with wd 40 then softly apply a continous pressure with a plastic part like a spoon. they'll gradually come off. do not force anything, a bit of warmth will assist

Take the car to an accepted body/ paint shop and pay for the elimination of the letters. you'll save yourself lots of heartache and trouble.
