If you accidentally spill some gas onto your car, does it hurt the paint?
say you are filling up your gas tank and, as you pull the nozzle out or it overflows onto the car, does this hurt the paint?

Yes, damaging. Not instantly but if you leave it for more than some minutes it can eat through your wax and start deteriorating your clearcoat. generally rinse it off. When you clean it you just move it around and still leave a film of it on the paint.

Think about thinners that were used to take off paint.they are alcohol established or alike.

If you do it everytime and don't wash it off it can over time hurt the paint.

Only if your paint is in bad condition. Just be sure you clean it off.

depends on how much you do it. my dad generally used to get the washer wand for the windshields after he'd fill up, and clean the area off that got spilled on. he said it could lift the paint.

I do not think it makes quite that much difference, unless it is lots and you do not ever clean your car..

it will not hurt factory paint but if you have had your car repainted it can fade the clearcoat if you do not clean it off and get some wax on it.
