I've been having a problem the last not many weeks with my indicators on an Audi TT. They work perfectly the 1st not many times after starting the car, but most of the time they don't work intermittently. In fact they stay on and don't flash.

Apart from the problem of staying on without flashing, they work exactly how indicators should switching off after turning etc., and this makes me think it isn't the lever.

I do not especially want to pay Audi's prices for official fix, so I'd like to know if it's an easy problem to fix.

Any ideas?

Ok I just tried them again and they did not work. But I changed my Hazard Lights on and off and they seem to work for a while.

Could the problem be connected to the Hazard Lights?

Sorry to be blunt, but all of these guys are wrong. What you're reporting is a common problem. The fix doesn't involve light bulbs, ground straps, or a flasher. The red, round hazard warning switch is the culprit. The switch has the "flasher" built into it. If you replace this, I could want to bet it'll fix your problem. I fixed many TTs with the same issue.

E mail me if you have a question.

The relay or flasher unit is suspect No 1

Make sure all the bulbs light and replace any that do not.

open your hood and find ground straps or screw also look for ground wire from body to motor, hope this helps.

you say that they just stay on I'd say that it may possibly be the flasher unit relay should be common fit I know that vauxhall units fit fords so you could pop down to your local scrap yard and get some from a couple of different cars just in case you pick up a dud one.
the flasher unit has three pins on it.

hope its of any use.

Audi Nate is right. I have a TT. It had flasher problems. The flasher relay is integrated into the hazard switch. it is humorous reading everyone else's answers although. "Grounding straps"? Haha.
