$4,200 what? Peso's, Rubels, Dollars, euro's?
What Audi is it?
Is it quattro?
What alternatives does it have?
How many miles?
Did you do a report on the car carfax ?
is it from a Dealership?
is there a Warrenty?
Any new parts ?

Yes Audi's are good cars, realiable but figure out the answers to these questions, also check Kelly Blue Book for better reference with alternatives and such Sure they can have problems but so can any other car on the road.
Bring it to your mechanic if your not sure about the car. They typically will do a full inspection rather cheep.

Well 1st of all, if it is 1996 the technology could be nonsense meaning that it is easier to get in an accident. Second of all, it depends what model it's. 3rd of all, you must look at the condition and see how many km's its done. You want a rough idea of what you are purchasing and how long it'll last.

yeas audis are good cars and a 96 will out handle 70% of the new cars on the road today at least in the US They are not going to produce and accident and if you need all these new computer programs to keep your car on the road you shouldnt be driving.

No it isn't a good car. When it was new I could say it was good but eleven years afterward I could avoid it. Audi and VW have been plagued with electircal problems. Unless you got a warranty I wouldnt propose one to anybody. At this age of the car parts are costly and it's to hard for the average shop to work on most local shops don't have the correct equipment required to diagnose problems for these cars . I could find something built inside the last seven years. I sell usually used german vehicles BMW, MB, Porsche but I decide to stay away form audi caused by broad maintanence.Example last problem 05 S4 awd under warranty. While my man washed the engine water in some way ruined the cam timing modification sensor. three weeks the audi dealrship had the car $6400.00 labor and $400.00 for parts. Thank god for warranty or I could be stuck. Just one of about five horror stories I have about audi.
