Yup. The 1.8L engines are pretty easy to preserve, but their weak spot is the profile gasket, which is deadly to the engine if it ever fails.

BMW four cyl. does not get imported into teh US anymore. The smallest displacement is their 2.5 inline six used in the three and five series.

BMW really does a great job stocking parts for out of production models. They recently built an old car from the 1960s a 2002 but using nearly 100% new parts. it is a brand new car.

4 cylinders are fuel economical and well if you know how to preserve it then your car could last longer. people say it is hard to get parts bs. you may be able to get a part inside a day or three days. the meaning of hard to get is can not find the part or anything like that but you may be able to really find parts easily. most parts that are changed a lot spark plugs filter air filter etcc. are there to come byh.

BMW does not make four cylinder cars.
the lowest is the inline 6.

the old four cylinders were from the 2002 back in the 70's.
