totally. I have a 2002 Boxster S that's my daily driver, rain or shine. Like any car you just have to take care of it. Are parts more expensive? Yes, but you do the work yourself and you may be able to save LOTS of money. An oil change at a dealership is about $200. Do it yourself $70. Air filter at a dealership $89, yourself $26.

Driving one. Priceless..

You want a soft ride with lots of roll? Go with the MB. Want a sports car with lots of performance? Go with a Porsche.

Sure but the maintenance will kill you unless you have some money. A wiper motor for mine was $1,200.

So you may be able to use as a daily driver just expect the maintenance tab.

Yes, these cars are intended for constant use, not to be stored and babied.

Oh no, no, no, no.
You'll want a Mercedes Benz for everyday use. look at the CLS 550 or the CL 500. Of course the S Class is generally a nice choice for a dependable family sedan.
Now if you are interested in a nice roadster the SL Class generally pleases. And if you just have way too much disposable earning take a peek at the SLR Class.
Follow the star my friend.

Of Course. Porsches aren't high strung cars they may be used everyday. You could deliver newspapers with them if you wanted.

I have a 87 Carrera that I drive every day and the car loves it. Ownership is more cheap if you may be able to do some of it yourself, but if you're talking about a newer Porsche, then possibly the cost isn't an issue. These cars were intended to be driven, and IMO are "happier", meaning fewer mechanical fix issues, if they're driven every day. The engines and drivetrains are robust, and with the exemption of the clutch, which should be considered a consumable, they should last well into the 200 300 Km range before big work is obliged.
