I think they're really good but I'm not a good driver so I favor an auto. Surely it does not make that much difference in gas mileage..but am I just wasting a good car and should stick to a honda or something?

NO. Get a stick, get more power, get better gas mileage, and pay less.

most MB models come with an auto tranny. I think that the c class and the slk class can be the only two new models that have a manual transmission as an choice.
my parents have had benzes for many years as long as I can keep in mind anyhow . all of them have been automatics and all worked well for miles and miles.

stick to a honda?? if you have got the $$ for a benz, purchase it. my mother's e class is five years old and does not rattle still. it is calm as a tomb in that car at 75 miles per hour. they have also got an '88 sl roadster that has 90some thousand miles on it and it is a tank. the doors shut with a THUMP like a bank vault.

spoil yourself.

Heck yea, it is ok to have an auto in a Mercedes. When you get to Mercedes position you do not want to be changing gears, you want to put the peddle to the metal & cruisssseeee.

the Mercedes transmission is superior to any other transmission,s because they're tested under all kind,s of conditions,,and put through hours,,and day,s of abuse,,just to see what it takes to make one go out,,only one in 50, ,will fail,,and this not total failure,,most of the time just a minor malfunction,,they are estimated to last at least 300.000 miles,,if properly maintained,,so rest guaranteed,,whether it be new or used,,it should last you a good long while,,i do this for a living,,but I do not ever get any Mercedes transmission,s to work on,,hope this helps.

Comparing a Mercedes to a Honda is a different story, but as far as the Mercedes auto transmission goes they're all great but depends on which one you're to get what model and year of car?, the new 7G TRONIC has seven forward gears with a high percentage spread with small rev speed steps and two reverse gears. based on the way you drive it makes fast answer and fuel economical gear changes. Either way you want to see an auto transmission, the Mercedes auto is superior to any other auto, and regardless what Mercedes you purchase they'll all be a much better investment over a Honda. A Mercedes will generally be a BETTER car than any Honda changed or not .

autos are for those lazy people bcause you juz step on the speed up n it'll move but manuals can warm up the engine before driving but will be troblesome to shift those gears
