Yeah, but its not as easy as it sounds. I doubt there are any aftermarket kits for your car, so you have to go to a junk yard and find a protege with rear disks and grab all the parts you need, as well as the hoses. Your most likely gonna need a new proportioning valve and a new master cylinder also

Certainly.all it takes is MONEY, and lots of it. rear disc brakes are out there, but the logistics of to get a mechanical safety brake back there, too, is more hard. Check to see if ANY Mazda cars have four wheel discs, and see if they interchange. But you need a totally different rear axle for one of those, and they ain't cheap. yes, it is possible, but not inexpensively so.

Well its possible but its a big job, it isent just the case of shoes and pads youd have to change the drum and put in a disk roter a caliper and pads .ect , then you have the problem of the parking break so youd have to have one of those two in one drum and disk break shoe and pad and that could be complex and costly to instal, in other words it isent worth it you minte aswell purchase a new car.

Good Luck

yes if you may be able to find a Mazda with rear disc brakes that will fit it you, can change it, you have to change everything although, but if you may be able to get all the parts reasonably priced,it could be worth it,you,ll need everything from another car although, and it should be a Mazda that parts will interchange on also, the protege may have had rear disc in that year, and if it did you may change them, good luck on it.

Only if the mazda three has disk rear brakes. verify with after market Baer, Stop Tec and others most brake upgrades start with the front brakes.

It will be expensive, so ask yourself if it is worth it. verify with brake people like Baer and see if they make a kit that will let you change it over. it's a smart idea, but I do not think it's practical.

Yes it's possible but the cost could most likely be more then your car is worth, sorry but it could be a better idea to install new high preformance shoes, new hardware kit and possibly bigger wheel cylinders and adjustersin the rear, also install cross drilled front rotors with new four piston callipers and ceremic front pads, steel braided brake hoses and a bigger master cylinder to increase braking power. This also could be costly but only about half the cost of a disc conversion, and could give you the braking preformance you're seeking. Hope this helps James Horner Service Manager with 15 yrs experiance at an auto fix shop
