Is it the Transmission? 2001 Mazda 626?

Postby Soulhikers » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:38 am

Ok I don't know if I have all the terms right but here I go.

i have a mazda and about two weeks ago I had alternator problems and I fixed that.

Now this week I drived my car on the highway and I noticed jerking motions as I accelerated. I turned around.

Every time I speed up I have to got to like six you know in the 123456 next the the speedometer for it to go to like 55. it looks like it takes so much energy to get the speed up.

Now its starting to make a tractor like sound and as im accelerating it it so deafening. my dad said that I could drive it in town to go to school and work ntil he can fix it but not on the highway. the speed bound is like 45 out here.

Please help me I'm a 20 yrold full time college student trying to work and needs her car to go to point a to point b.

your engine is turning at like 6000 RPM that is REALLY BAD

I take it your car is or was a auto.

did you attempt to drive it in 2?

if you take the shifter and put it in the two posission it may still drive

try ti start out in one and about 34000 rpm up shift to two

if that works attempt 3

some times the manuel body in the trans picks up a small part of crud and if can make a car act FUNNY

Good luck.
