Is the Lexus RX a good car?

like what is good about it and is it good? could you call it a "status car"?

I personally own a 2007 RX350. Yes I'm happy with the buy. I do confess I paid the extra for the navigation system. first I wasn't going to, but after test driving one without, then another with it, I just "had to have it".

Back when I shopped for a new car it came down to the RX350 and a Toyota Rav4. I know Toyota makes both. Plus Toyota has a running history of good quality cars off the factory line. Lexus and Toyota have both been in the top ten for buyer satisfaction as indicated by JD POWERS.
RAV4 was 20k cheaper and was MP3 player prepared. But I felt that the spare tire place was quite detrimental. I believe, I did not like it. Only since if I get in a rear ender crash, the spare tire takes all the affect. This affect gets redisplaced to the whole rear door, window and all. This makes fix costly than if the door alone has been impacted.

I bit the 20K bullet and went with the RX. It has a smooth ride. The Navigation system is addicting and doubles as my movable yellow pages when travelling out of town. I can look for the nearest chinese restaurant, gas station, Best purchase, winery, etc when on vacation. The backseat fits passengers that are taller than 6' comfortably. although they didn't like the fit in the driver's seat. The rear seats collapses in a 40/20/40 split which is awesome. Personally I'll not haul dirty loads in it. I have the white interior. I installed an aftermarket spring tension held dog gate now behind the rear seat head rests. I then flipped over the cargo space floor mat, making it rubber side up. This makes the cargo space perfect for carrying my dog, wet or dry.
My Lexus gets 25 highway and 23 city. I got the All wheel drive variant.

I simply adore the split weather control. I typically run warmer than my passengers, so now I do not feel bad. The backup camera makes lowering boats or such water recreation vehicles way easier to unload.

The key/remote has a button to let you open/close the cargo door from a distance which is awesome when shopping or such.

The anti slip/ traction control is awesome when driving in the rain/snow. I do not totally rely on it. But I do feel it kick in every so frequently.

Finally, yes I think Lexus is a position symbol, but a smart one. You get what you pay for: quality and luxury. although it's a fancier Toyota. Just like Acura is a fancier Honda, Infinity is a fancier Nissan, and the Audi is a fancier VW.

What is strange for me is this.. people see me driving this "expensive" car, but they do not realize that more people are spending just as much if not more for super loaded pickups from FORD, DODGE, or CHEVROLET.

Have I mentioned I mentioned I own an RX? it's a 2007 with 11,000 miles on it. It has the Navigation and XM system installed.

why do you need a 4x4 like that, they're compleatly usless off road and for the money they cost allot you could get a safer higher specification and more economical car, with just as much room for that kind of money, don't get me rong its a good car, but not worth the money.

The good things about the RX are it is dependability, comfort, convenience, looks, and features. it is a really good car all around. And yes, I could call it a position car. It does not matter what Lexus you purchase, it'll be a position car. Only some people out there will know it is the cheapest SUV Lexus makes, the rest will think you use up close to $100k for it. In fact, an IS 250 drove by and my mom asked me if that was the most costly Lexus. They all look really good and they all look costly.

It's dependable, calm, comfy.

It may be a position car, particularly if you get the RX400h. it is a hybrid, but it has the power of a v8. clean too, if or not it's a hybrid. Eben the RX330 and RX350 V6 engines are rated an super Low Emissions car II.

You are talking about a Lexus my friend. Of course it's a good car, or better, it's an excellent car. Once you drive a Lexus you do not wanna drive anything else. Ask me, I have got my second Lexus now ES350 and still think I'll purchase another Lexus at some point. it is the best car ever made. Take it for a test drive & you will know what I mean.

i wouls say its a pretty good car if you just want a small midsize SUV. but I love the GX470. good I believe.
but I have an older model 2001 RX300. its got 130,000 miles on it so far. only problem I got so far was regular big maintenance.. so not that much problems.

yes it's a good car but remember it's just a pimped up toyota. the camry is just as good for lots less.

For over $30,000, it better be a good car. it is lavish, so you get lots for the money.
