How much could common oil change cost? What about repairs and whatever else needed?

totally. Porsche maintenance costs run about double or more the costs to preserve, a Camry.

Not only do the labor hours cost more, the parts cost lots more. you may be able to save money doing the work at an indepedent mechanic, and oil changes may be done anywhere that performs them just be sure to use the right oil .

ALso, a Boxster will EAT through tires. My 2000 Boxster S went through new rears every 7500 miles, and expect at least $250 a tire to replace.

Lastly, think about that Porsche's are not Fords. You can not generally go in, get a fix, and drive out that day. Parts frequently must be ordred from Germany, and that takes time.

It's not high for a Porsche but it is high in comparison to a Scion, sure. lots depends on the shop you go to. If its the dealer, you're going to pay lots for maintenance. But Boxsters are easy to preserve as long as you start off with a good one. If you purchase a shabby or neglected Boxster, there will be hell to pay.

Repairs on any modern car are costly but expendables like brakes and tires are not too bad. Things like motors and clutches are pretty nasty to have to pay for.

If you may be able to pay for to purchase a almost new Porsche then you may be able to pay for to preserve it.
