Yep, usually do not purchase from there. there's an old saying, "You get what you pay for." and that typically is the case for ebay. Some things you may be able to get decently, example being that short shift kits typically you may be able to find for inexpensive. it's hard to mess that up, but something that's big and bulky, and will have to take some effort to install, and have to be usually tough like a body kit you most likely could not want to get from there. Save your money, and part a kit together from a reputable production company. When you have the complete kit, save enough to have it installed and painted all now. Most people will tell you a bodykit sucks, but if you want it, at least do it right, and not ride around with either a junked up kit, or pieces of different color kit.

make sure you know what you're to get, if it's a company selling it do they have good feebacks? other private sellers too check out the feedback to learn if they don’t have complaints or shady contact, you have to know what it's you want and are odering or you may get something you didn't want or expect and ask about a return policy, majority of people won't take back electrical or another computer parts that may be rendered inoperational

i would not purchase one off a private seller. I could purchase one of a real company that uses ebay as a selling tool. look not only at their feedback %, but at the comments that last purchasers had made about their transaction with that company. If their are lots of positive comments than odds are the company that you're dealing with is reputable and won't screw you over. plus you may be able to get a smart idea of the quality of the merchandise depending on past customers experience.

Check the seller's feedback and ranking. Check to see of they have an online store that's linked to eBay as this typically means they're on the up and up. certainly use paypal to finish the sale as they offer more protection for you as a customer. Most importantly, email and communicate with the seller and develop a rapport with them as you could a local shop keeper. Ask questions and advice as they should have some knowledge about what they're selling. , make sure to factor in shipping costs and technique before committing. it's also important to find as a serious customer as many sellers are put off by spam from other people.

Yes there's plenty to look out for. My friend bought a body kit for an '06 chevy colbalt. Well he got it in and took it to our local body shop. Once there they told him it could take a lot of modification to fit his car. But on the ebay auction page it obviously stated that it could fit. Well after a little research the body kits being sold were generic ones. Meaning they were not intended exactly for his car. If I was you I could check out veilside.com or extremedimensions.com they are my to favorites and they offer body kits that fit with little modification which means saves you money on labor.

Just pickup a set from four wheel parts. they will know what you need and show you what to do. If you want they will install all parts.

EBay has some number of features to assist you be sure you're purchasing from a rightful source
You will have to set up an EBay account if you have not already
Another smart idea is to set up a Pay friend account most sellers take Pay friend and it gives you extra security
First Read through the description of the item completely. be sure the item is portrayed in detail. Watch out for hidden cost like things not included and particularly SHIPPING cost.
Next check the sellers feedback, be sure to check some number of last auctions, looking for alike things.
Then ASK THE SELLER any questions you may have. its to late after you have bought the item to learn its not what you wanted.
When you have decided put the item on your watch list, you may be able to enter a bid if you like but not the highest amount you could pay. though EBay is set up to bid for you and will do so up to your highest bid amount, there are people who bid on auctions only for entertainment. it's best to wait till the last hour or so of the auction and watch your item. AS the end of the auction comes you may be able to increase your bid as you like but if at all possible do not enter your maximum amount til the last minute or less. This really cuts down on other outbidding you in the last minutes.
As far as body kits remember many of them are particular about the donor car that may be used. And Most of them require allot of hours of work to build your dream car.

Cool to see someone else in the auto scene. Heres a couple of ebay info I offers you short and sweet :
1 Bid once, bid late, bid your max.
Many ebayers fall into the urge to bid once they see what they want. This just creates a bidding war and will result in you losing the auction or paying a higher price than needed. Wait till the auction has just minutes left, then place the highest amount you could want to pay. it'll automatically outbid anybody by a small amount, so you do not use up more than you may want to. If you lose the auction, you already told yourself that was your max bid, so do not feel bad. Someone just wanted to pay more than you.
2 because this is going on a BMW I will assume it may be a little costly. Protect yourself.
There are many scammers out there and I am sure theres a couple who prey on people working on their cars. Do some feedback research and be sure the feedback is legit. If they sold 1,000,000 desktop backgrounds for a penny, run away. I did some research to find that one, source listed
Good Luck.
