Is there anything special about bleeding the brakes on a 2004 Audi S4?
I've heard it is not possible without buying a special VAG tool because the stability control system ESP .

it's true that a scan tool is required to bleed the brakes on some Audi vehicles, but not all. in some vehicles, the scan tool must be used to run the ABS pump to clear all of the air out of the system. It depends which ABS unit is on the car. The B6 S4 only came with Bosch 5.7 and Bosch 8.0. Neither of these units have to be ran while bleeding. I could recommend using a pressure bleeder if possible.

The bleed sequence is as follows:

1 Left front brake caliper
2 Right front brake caliper
3 Left rear brake caliper
4 Right rear brake caliper
