I have seen some audi tt around my area for about 14k to 18k but the miles on them are around 37k to 50k. do you think its ok to purchase a used 2000 20001 TT with 37k to 50k miles on it? what questions am I supposed to ask or what am I supposed to look for when im purchasing one? just wondering thanks.

Audi's hold their value well because they are engineered to last. We own two quatro turbos, one's and 87, the other is a 90. The 1st has over 200k miles, and the last has almost 200k.

When an audi dies, it's only temporary, as it may be revived and brought back to life with bit more than an oil change and some new belts, and plugs. Some how the damn things just keep on running. they are like super heros.

I could say purchasing one with that many miles should be okay. A better way to know is to research how they hold up in the long run. But for the most part audi is a reputable company.

Audi's are engineered to last, and that mileage is really low for the era of the car. it is said that the "average" mileage per year is between twelve 15,000K.multiply that by the age six years and it should be around 72,000 miles if driven on average. Those miles seem low to me, so I'd go for it. make sure to have a mechanic check it out for any problems that you can not just "see" with the naked eye, on occasion, there are electrical malfunctions, etc that are virtually indetectable till you have driven them or had them tested out 1st. Good luck.

The thing you want to look at is the history of the car. If it it was well taken care of, 37k 50k is not too bad for an 00 or 01. make sure to do a carfax before buy. I recently bought an 01' 225 TT roadster with 24k miles for $21,600. It was a second owner car and an older couple owned it for the past five years. Be patience and you will find a good one.

usually european cars differ from a lot of american and japanese cars, we don't really look at the miles because they'll run forever if you treat them right. we have a benz that is been in the family its got over 400k and still is a champ. just be sure they are not all harassed miles and the car wasn't abuse.but with the hondas you could abuse them or drive them like a 75 year old lady on a sunday morning and they'll still blow up at 170k

Miles are irrelevant th checkng the CONDITION of the car is more important. Tha Audi came in two separate engine distinctions a 190bhp variant and a 225bhp v6. to see how many trips have been done over the course of its life pull the seat beltto the floor of the car if it returns usually you are ok, if not then its either been abused or the miles are incorrect

Buddah and m. ali are giving you the best answers. As far also engineered European cars go, if they have been taken care of properly, then 50k miles is barely to get started.

Look for a car with a documented service history from the day it left the dealership maintenance done, tires replaced, big work, everything. Make photocopies of the paperwork and take the cars you are interested in to a reputable Audi mechanic from a dealership or an independent shop, it should not matter . Show the mechanic the paperwork, and have them do a bumper to bumper inspection of the car. be sure they take a special look at the engine, transmission, drivetrain and brakes.

There are some number of sites online that supply pre buy car inspection info, also. Good luck with your search. Audi TT's are great cars. I hope you are able to find a good one.
