No.
VW is part owned by Porsche, with which it has generally shared lots of technology, and which has been founded by the same man.
VW owns:
Audi
Skoda
Seat
Bentley
Bugatti
Lamborghini
They shared technology with many east bloc and chinese automakers, and with many small automakers over the years.
They have big stakes in some number of heavy truck makers, as well as Scania.
Mercedes owns:
Until recently, Chrysler
Smart
Maybach
Freightliner
And some strictly commercial truck makers.
They shared technology with Ssangyong, and through them, Daewoo, Mitsubishi, Chrysler which may continue and some center eastern automakers.

Not at all. VW is by themselves. Mercedes/Chrysler are owned by the same Company.

No but close so Audi,And Porshe, and all german familys are close like Italys and Scandinavinans? but not same family maybe the bought into each other? like most car manufactures do/ look at Beaz chryler? now a Ameracin car maker more or less, Baez still owns 20%.though.

No. Volkswagen is a marque of Volkswagen Group whilst Mercedes Benz is a division of DaimlerChrysler.
Volkswagen is now partnering with Mercedes Benz, also as other businesses, to market "BlueTec clean diesel technology" although.

Audi Skoda Seat Bentley,Lamborghini
as Mec owns crysler.55% 45%.
But both german and far diffrent ideas.rock on.

Mercedes will continue to own 20% of Chrysler. They not have controlling interest.
While VW and Mercedes are different businesses, the different German cars tend to share technologies via backdoor commonalities, like Bosch electronics, ATE brakes, ZF transmissions, Lemforder suspensions, Wahler sensors, etc. So while the cars can be different, the fundamental technology is alike in some respects.
