Is Volvo S40 year 2000 model a good car?

I gather the car parts maintenance cost is very high. Is the car reliable? I'm living in Malaysia tropical weather . What about the fuel consumption?

s40 is a dependable car,if you must pay attention to its maintenance. keeping the sensors all cleaned up every now, then is important,because it's sensitive to dusts where tropical countries can not do away with.
1.8 or 2.0?well there's only a small difference.there you may be able to most likely get six seven km per L on traffic,8 ten highway driving.
and yes the maintenance is costly.
