Little recognized fact, Ferdinand was really named Lipschitz. Porsche really stands for: Probably Only Real Sports Car Heaven Engineered Brand new 1988 930 Turbo owner here.

His real assert to fame was that he intended the Volkswagen Beetle for Hitler before World War II. It was his son Ferry that really got the company going with the 1st Porsche cars. The pig reference is just coincidence. and considering they have the best motorsports history out of any company around, I could hardly call them pigs :
