If it is a Pig, it is a friggin Wart Hog.. don't get in it is way, or you'll take one up where the sun do not shine. Little recognized fact, Ferdinand was really named Lipschitz. Porsche really stands for:

Probably
Only
Real
Sports
Car
Heaven
Engineered

Brand new 1988 930 Turbo owner here.

No, it is simply named after the founder, Ferdinand Porsche. His real assert to fame was that he intended the Volkswagen Beetle for Hitler before World War II. It was his son Ferry that really got the company going with the 1st Porsche cars.

Wikipedia has lots of good information on it:
en.wikipediathe/wiki/Porscheen.wikipediathe/wiki/Porsche">en.wikipediathe/wiki/porsche.

Ferdinand porsche was A: German from austrian descent, and B: named porsche, so he named his car company, amazingly, PORSCHE.

The pig reference is just coincidence.

and considering they have the best motorsports history out of any company around, I could hardly call them pigs :

You may have done the research yourself and have gotten the right answer. What a stupid question.

Ever wonder why Benny is doing his best to fire up that one brain cell to make Porsche holders mad. Maybe one day he can join our ranks and be the one looking out from inside the 911 vs crying because he can not get into one.
