most likely the best all weather car on the market. I have had five of them and now my fave 2005 Outback 2.5 Turbo..kick butt hold on power in this machine. If you want to see the old ones and how long they last, go to Minnesota, thousands up there .alot of them have between 150 300,000 miles. Good maintenance oil every 4k helps a lot. Great car.

They are well made and the forester has a great track record on side affect. We had one and loved it. Moved on to other vehicles. But I could have one again for sure.

Yeah, they do tend to last for a pretty while, but I do not really think it has anything to do with if it is foreign or not.

the reason is because of tighter tolerances in the motor.

Subaru cars last longer than average, but like most cars these days, their models aren't totally foreign. My 2001 Legacy has been assembled in Indiana.

No, it is because they're made by the best engineers in the buisiness. These guys build stuff that mechanics can work with. And the lifetime rust free ensure is the real kicker. My 96 looks same under the hood as the 2006 except mine has a 2.2 and the new ones are 2.5. you must get 100K on them before there economical. I get around 30MPG with mine with 200K on the motor.
