Jeep Cherokee front drive shaft exchange.? |
|
Will the front drive shaft from a '98 Jeep Cherokee 4dr with an auto transmission fit a '98 Jeep Cherokee 2dr with a manual transmission? I can not find one anywhere for a 2dr manual. I am scared to purchase one online because I do not know if the sellers are measuring them for length the right way.

The doors on the two door model are longer than the doors on the four door, but that should not change the length of the drivetrain. Both vehicles will most probably have a front Dana 30 axle, so you have to measure the length of the transmissions and move cases are the same. If they're, I see no reason why they would not fit. as well, do not bound yourself to the 98 model year. Chrysler redesigned the look of the Cherokee in 96, but it's just the same car that AMC intended back the early 80's. Check any year Cherokee or Comanche, its pickup truck counterpart, and I could say the driveshaft should fit. I could be very surprised if it did not. Hope this helps.
