ok well depends on how big of tires you want if you just want that a couple inches bigger you wont need a lift but if you want much larger I put 35inch tires on my 2000 dodge dakota I needed 4inch lift you'll need a lift also I may tell you those bigger tires will screw up your spedo on my truck the spedo is 20kms off due to bigger tires.

If all you want are bigger tires, check out a body lift. they're cheap and maintain a alike ride to what you have now.

Jeep lift kits???

I have a Wrangler X TJ, with stock suspension I am running 31x.12.50 R15 with American Racing outlaw II 15x10 rims, that is the biggest you may be able to go with out lifting it. I just did a four inch suspension lift I can go to 33x12.5 and a six inch lift you may be able to go to 35x12.5. The best place for Jeep parts is quadratec.com. Also think about how much you're off road. If this is a daily driver go with a all terrain tire. There are lots of Jeep Performance around Denver recommend searching Google Earth. I am not sure about Tires sizes on other models then TJ's, Once you go past four inches of Lift it's a lot more money it misaligns all the drivetrain a lot of searches will not tell you that and lift kits will not talk about it most times.

Invest in a nice set of rims 15x8 and go with BFG all terrain tires. start with 31 inch tires and you'll be happy. Ebay has some really nice low cost lift kits. Is your wrangler a tj.
check out my 360 page I have a pict of mine from wheeling yesterday and it does good off road with 31s

I could like to get into the technical mumbo jumbo with you about lifts and all the costly mods you'll have to make so that it all works, but I think in your case you're going about this wrong. I think you may want to sell your current Wrangler and just purchase one already built to the way you want it. you will save thousands of dollars in the long run lifts add nothing to the blue book value of the car . Just be sure you avoid the four bangers and at least research the kind of wheeling you want to do. you may be able to do lots with 31's and go nearly anywhere with 33's on a properly lifted rig. Any higher than that and you will find yourself in an costly world of tires, U joint replacements, etc.

Go with a 2inch lift and 32 inch tires, that way you will not have to exchange your gears. With the bigger tires you'll loose lots of power unless you change your gears. The 32 inch tire could be the biggest I could go with factory gears. You also may change your speedo gear to get you the correct reading on your speedo.

You must be honest with yourself and ask yourself what you intend to do with the jeep. if you're planning to go off roading and serious off roading then you'll have to drop the cash. If you're just looking for a cool ride then you may be able to cut corners. If you do not know much about jeeps then you could most likely not know lots about off roading still. I could propose you start a little smaller with 3 you'll still need a lift but you may be able to get a Budget increase at a significant saving in money. This will also give you the same factory ride. To have the 3 you'll have to add a body lift with the BB. Total without tires you may be able to get for under $400. Otherwise you're looking at a suspension lift which is costly and more in depth. By the way are you running a four or six cylinder with the bigger tires you'll have to regear. More important in the four vurses the 6.

I could propose looking at some jeep clubs in the Denver area there are lots. here is a link to quadratec's site, they offer everything for a jeep, you may also register for their catalog and get ideas of where you want you jeep to go. The link is for all the jeep clubs in colorado.
quadratec.com/community/jeep_clubs/jeep_club_by_state.php?st=COquadratec.com/community/jeep_clubs/jeep_club_by_state.php?st=CO">quadratec.com/community/jeep_.
From there you may be able to find people that know lots about jeeps and most likely set you up with a great deal and possible assist you in your build.

Sorry this is long but there's so much information and with the restricted details it's hard to focus down. email me with some more details and I can point you in the right direction. Like I said in a different post. The jeep community is a close knit community and generally wanting to help a fellow jeeper.
