Laredo paint question?

Most paints that are intended for auto body won't chip or peel if they're applied properly. The key is in the preparation of the side panels. Lightly sand them with 80 grit to roughen surface. Clean them thorougly with alcohol or acetone to take off all oils, apply a good coat of primer, resand lightly with 80 grit, clean again. the begin painting.

Laredo paint question?

What ever you do, do not sand with 80 grit . that's far to violent for this application. attempt about 360 wet or dry and keep it wet at all times. The idea is to just get rid of the "shine" but not cut through the paint. Your stock paint should be a "Base coat / Clear coat" and you may be able to purchase the correct paint and clear coat from any jeep dealer so it works properly with what you have. Also use a sanding block at all times.
