Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive), a new technology that allows the driver to select the level of engine performance.
It features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard like other Subaru models. 2.5-liter intercooled turbo Boxer engine has 243 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 241 lb-ft. of peak torque @ 3,600 rpm.
The new SI-Drive system allows the driver to choose from among three modes - "Intelligent", "Sport" and "Sport Sharp" - using a rotary dial on the center console. This allows the driver to maximize engine performance, control and efficiency of the vehicle.
*"Intelligent" mode - the system lowers engine torque and power and switches to a more relaxed throttle response curve. It is an ideal choice for commuting in traffic, for example, and it can also boost fuel efficiency by up to 10 percent.
*"Sport" mode - quick throttle responses and powerful, linear acceleration. That makes it great for driving on highways and suburban streets or for climbing mountain roads.
*"Sport Sharp" mode - make lightning quick throttle response and give more power. It is ideal for tackling twisty roads and for merging or overtaking other vehicles on the highway with confidence.
