Lookin to purchase a Dodge Dakota or Dodge Durango? |
|
I'm thinking about purchasing a Dodge Dakota or Dodge Durango. I wanted to know what current or past holders of Dodge cars have thought about them. Are Dodge vehicles a good purchase or am I supposed to avoid them?

The Dodge Dakota midsize pickup ’06 and ’07 models is available in many variants as well as high performance types. The Chrysler Group brand claims that its Dakota offers best in class torque and towing potential. as indicated by J.D. Power Circle Ratings the Dakota is better than average in the quality of its design and about average by manufacturing quality. This bigger midsize pickup offers better fuel economy and maneuverability than its big or full size counterparts and more than former compact pickups.
Durango is Dodge’s midsize utility car or SUV. The original Durango launched in 1998 and the all new, second generation Durango was presented as a 2004 model. Since the ’06 model year, the Durango was equipped with electronic stability control and offers an anticipated 20% improvement in fuel economy with a Hemi V eight featuring multi displacement system technology. The in general quality of design is about average, as indicated by J.D. Power Circle Ratings. For more info, reviews and details about these models and others, visit JDPower.com.

Don't listen to that moron. Dodge Durangos & Dakotas are nice vehicles. I have a '99 Dakota with the 3.9L v6. If you get one, I could suggust to get the v8, it is easier to get aftermarket stuff for them. For some information, check out Dodge truck world.

i now own both a 1987 dakota with 3.9 v6 and a 2000 dakota sport four dr. with the 4.7 v8. both have been excellent vehicles and usually trouble free except for some problems with emmission controls on the newer one. looks doge has generally had a little trouble with some cosmetic things breaking or falling off. typically simple things like electric door locks breaking down and not working but in general I give the power trains a thumbs up. good product, a little over priced but what is not these days, adequate power to weight and good suspension systems. the dakotas and durangos nicely fill the bill between full sized and compact suvs and pickup trucks. the one unfortunate disadvantage is the extra weight and size causing a drop in fuel mileage in comparison to compacts. good luck and happy hunting.

if you may be able to pay for the gas then get a dakota but if you can not avoid dodges. I own a dakota so I can say it gets awful gas mileage. I ahve an 03 dakota quadcab 4x4 4.7 v eight and I get 17 city and at best so far 24 hwy. so as you may be able to see mileage sucks and if you get a 5.9 your gas mileage will be in the teens and the V six gets the same as the 4.7 and 5.2 V 8's.
maybe look in to to get a four cylinder truck if your not looking at towing or hauling heavy loads. I had a 95 ranger that I could go a month with out refueling. wish I had that truck again haha.
