it's dependable car. My wife has 96 Corolla, it still run greats till today. We never have a problem with engine. All you have to do is just change oil, tires and break pads on a regular base. It has great gas millage.
Con: I do not like its design and small size. next to that it's a great car.
Don't just listen to my word. Here is what other people think on Edmund.com

I have a 2004 corolla.
great gas mileage, I get close to 40 MPG throughout the week
plenty of room, it doesnt feel like a small car
good extras, like CD player and airbags and ABS
and decent price

well if you are driving for long distance, I could not recommend it because the corolla only has 115 160hp depends on what model. to drive hwy perfectly w/o stomping on the gas you need at least 200hp. I recommend honda vehicles like the accord or but don't get the camry, I have one and its slow but the price isn't too bad. and tip on purchasing a car give them one price, they don't like it go to another dealer, but it only works on amercian vehicles don't ask me why.

Great car. They last forever, with little care and maintenance or headaches. My 1987 Corolla runs like a clock and has 392,000 KM. They aren't a Hot car, but if you want worry free motoring, not many cars can touch it in the long run. If you want a new car although, they can be a bit overpriced now and other cars have also got high standards now.

personally, I could go with a Chevy Cobalt instead.while it gets around the same gas mileage, you get a better bang for the buck feeling when you drive one.

I love my Corolla, great gas mileage, 42 on the highway. Had it over a year, and had nothing done, except oil changes. We have a Tundra, I wont purchase anything but a Toyota now, they're GREAT. Corolla is spacious.
