Zed is right. VTEC heads aren't exactly cheap. you may be able to purchase a complete LS motor for the price of a B16 head. So be sure that before you purchase it that it's pressure tested for cracks and just usually checked over by somebody who knows about aluminum heads.

Use the b16 head it has a better air flow design and will make more power. You just have to shop around for the head check salvage yards/part suppliers. Prices differ and change all the time. The v tec controller allows you to choose the rpm that you wish for v tec to engage the better ones also automatically change fuel management to offer the best performance you want the fuel management .
Do research on the exchange if you're doing it yourself. another oil line must be added externally to offer oil from the block to the head because the ls block doesn't have the interior oil feed for the v tec head.
