well evacuate the system and take out your orifice tube and put a new one in after you flushed the system. more probably the orifice tube is the one that's clogged up

Pull the A/C lines and clean them out. High preasure air works well.

<span title="Hmmmmm..1989....Tha's">Hmmmmm..1989....Tha&#039,. an R12 system, so unless you REALLY know what you're doing, I would not propose trying to charge it with the much cheaper R134a refrigerant. There are some number of "issues" that have to be addressed before you do the least of which is ALL the old oil must be flushed out and replaced since R12 oil will not work with R134a refrigerant. And since the oil has to mix with the refrigerant to lubricate the <span title="compressor......you">compressor......yo. get my drift.
It can be a blessing in disguise if it will not take the refrigerant now you may not have to replace the compressor still.
TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL
The "new' R134a refrigerant is not AS bad for the atmosphere as R12, but you are still playing with the air your grandchild's kids will have to breathe.
