Sounds like the blower motor.does it also make that sound if you turn the heat on and off? If so it's the blower motor..need to be replaced. The bearings wear out. They cost about $50 to $80 dollars

nope, it'll not stop if you add freon. the squeaky sound must be coming from the fan belt. you have to replace it already. otherwise, your car may overheat if the fan belt is totally damaged.

Get some water a cup and put it on the fan belt while it is making the sound to see if it stops.
If it stoped, go get your fan belts tightened.
You may have to replace them if they're too worn.

It sounds as if your belt is to get worn. I could recommend to get a can of coke and put a little on the belt. If it stops then the belt is your problem. Also think about that you didn't identify a year make and model either so this is a generic answer. On newer cars it may be the belt tensioner also. On older cars the belts may have to be adjusted. Check your belts for cracks or a polished look. This is an indication of belt slippage so they should be replaced as needed

It isn't the belt, the belt is generally moving and when you turn it on a clutch engages. The clutch needs to be disassembled cleaned and greased or worse case scenario replaced.

The belt sound has NOTHING to do with freon. It has to do with your drive belt's tension. It can be too tight or too loose, or it may be a worn belt that needs to be replaced.
It will not really influence the performance of your AC other than being annoying, but if it is a worn belt, you will want to replace it ASAP.

When AC is turned on it puts a sudden load on the belt. Check belt tension and change. On most Mazds the AC belt is a seperate belt from the fan or PS or Alt. if it breaks, will because no harm. Only loose AC operation
If problem were fan motor could make sound when AC off and fan on.

Your belt tension is inadequate. It can be caused by a worn belt or not enough tension. If belt is worn, frayed, cracked or in bad form, replace it. If the belt is good, look for a pulley with a tension modification nut. Loosen screw, use a prybar or screwdriver to add tension, then tighten the screw while keeping the tension on. Belt should deflect about 1/2 inch if pushed when properly tensioned.

proubly not, 1st you must examine where the squel is coming from. can you tell if the squeal is coming from under the hood at your ac unit or is it comming from your blower moter that blows the air inside. if it is from your ac area under your hood, have some one to turn on the ac while you look and see if its a belt squealing. look at the ac unit and see if the front of the ac unit cluch, coil field activates or simply start turning when someone turns on the ac switch.. some of the info may assist you figure out where the sound is coming from but to tackel an ac job if needed or changing out a blower moter, you may want to see a mechanic, these jobs takes tecnical tools and expertise usually, I hope I'v helped you I'v been a pro. mec. for 25yr. if you need help. over the net e me at specialedy05@.Thanks
