My Chevrolet venture cooling fan isn't working ??

Postby Lolerfalls » Sun Aug 26, 2007 6:46 am

hi every body,
my venture 2001 has two cooling fans larg and small, when the car is working with out turning on the AC the car gets over heated and only the small fan is working .. and when I turn on the AC both fans works and the temp. becomes ok.

why the larg fan amount not work when the AC is off?

Note: I live in the center east and the temp is too high it reaches 125 degree Fahrenheit in the noon.

I have a 2002 Venture and I think the other fan is for the a/c's condenser which is why it only turns on when the a/c turns on. The smaller fan must be the engine fan and if your engine was seriously overheating, I am sure both fans should come on. If they do not then have it checked/repaired. You should not have anything to worry about although since I am presuming you turn on the a/c in those unbearable temperatures, and turning on the a/c activates the other fan, so I do not see a problem.

The big fan is to only for the A/C, it requires the extra power to keep the engine cool while the A/C is on. Your engine is supposed to run up to 300 degrees before you may want to worry about it overheating. What temperature does it say on the odometer?
