My Mercedez Benz C230 2005 is leaking some liquid. How worried am I supposed to be?
I've been using my air conditioning due to heat.

If it is yellow orange, it is antifreeze. MBs do not use green antifreeze. If it is red orange, it is ATF. If it is amber to black and slippery, it is engine oil. If it is almost clear and smells like gasoline, it is gasoline. Those all warrant attention.

If it is clear and odorless, it is water from the AC. that is normal as long as it is draining underneath the car. If it is draining into the car, the drain line is blocked or the air plenum is cracked. Both need attention.

uh, that is most likely just water then from the a/c. if it is break liquid you may be in deep doo doo. Get some on your fingertips and see what the consistency is. If it is slick/slippery then worry. If it is like water do not.

green: antifreeze
red: transmission oil
black: oil
if it's any color besides clear go to the dealership and have it checked out
clear: water off of your air conditioner condenser

What kind of fluid? If it's water from the air conditioner, that is normal. Anything else, see a mechanic. is not a 2005 still under warranty?

any leak is a possible problem. find out what the liquid is. ex: if it's red, that could point to transmission liquid. If it's water after you have run your ac most probably it's condensation and nothing to worry about. oil usually found underneath near center of car after parking. check all liquid levels ie, power steering liquid, radiator coolant level, brake liquid level, oil. If any are low bring up to correct level, then check again in some days. if any are low again that may pinpoint the problem.

Fluid?? If you have been using the AC and there's a enough amount of humidity and the liquid seems water it's most probably just condensation from the air and is a normal occurrence, If the liquid is black and greasy feeling then you have an oil leak someplace gasket problem most probably if it's a minor leak some drops just check your oil more frequently, if it's a "puddle" then you'll need a gasket replaced. If the liquid is red and slippery it's auto transmission liquid, check the fittings and clamps to see if any have come loose or a line has a leak, or maybe the pan gasket need replacing, is it "just some drops" or a "puddle" again that means the difference between checking liquid levels and taking the car in for repairs. If the liquid has a green color to it it's "coolant" and you have a leak in your cooling system somewhere, if it's from under the radiator area it may just be coolant that escaped from the overflow running the AC causes the radiator to work harder because engine is running the AC compressor . Most probably the "fluid" you see if it seems like clear water is condensation Water in the air that cooled and condensed from using the AC and is to be projected, a normal occurrence, nothing to worry about. Always be worried about liquid leakage from any machinery. The 1st thing to do is lay some white butcher paper under the car when parking it after a drive and see what the liquid seems. If it is clear and evaporates quickly with no residue then it is most probably water vapor from the air condesed by your A/C unit that drips down as it sits in one place after having been run and to get chilled, no have to worry there. If it is any color at all, then that means it a liquid that is supposed to stay in the mechanical works and needs more investigation. If pink, it may be transmission, power steering, or brake liquid. Some motor oils are pink when new also. If it is brown it is probably to be engine oil. If it is green tinted it is probably to be anti freeze coolant. All of they are because for concern, as the car needs those fluids to operate properly. If the liquid is bluish it's most probably windshield wiper liquid, which isn't a big because of concern, but you may want to look at your wiper liquid resorvoirs to check for cracks and check the level of liquid, then re check the level again two days afterward. Your car will run without it, but you may want to clear your windshield of some bugs or ice one day, and it's useful fro that.

Have it taken to the dealer, because it should be under warranty.

Most of these answers are correct with one small thing. Mercedes not uses red transmission liquid its clear now also. Still on a car that new it should no leak. My guess could be its the a/c.

Depends on the liquid. If it is clear, it is just water from your condenser a couple of tablespoons' worth is nothing to be worried about.

If it is green, black or red, you are looking at antifreeze, oil or transmission/power steering liquid, in that order and all four are reason to take the car to a reputable Mercedes shop to have the leak checked.

Warning bells.....Dash to the nearest service centre.Mercedes rarely leaks.If it leaks...then something crap happened to it.Or it may just be the condensed liquid coz of using AC.

Your A/C unit is SUPPOSED to discharge water used for cooling. if the liquid you see is clear and has no odor to it could be good. If the liquid is any other color or thick in some area's like rubbery then take your car to your authorized Mercedes Benz service center.

Depends on what liquid. If your using the A/C, it's most likely water which is normal. Put your finger in it and taste it, it should be pure H2O
