My temperature gauge isn't working??

i got a honda civic, the gauge for the temperature isn't working, it never moves, it stays at the bottom in cold. what could because this, what part should I replace?

1st check your fuse box for a blown fuse.then check the sending unit on the engine on the eng. block or close to the hose goes into the eng. from the radiator.check wire connections on sending unit and temp. gauge.If I was to replace anything it could be the sending unit 1st.

Sounds like a bad temperature sending unit. they're typically inexpensive and easy to replace.

Tempature sending unit or it may be the gauge itself..both are easy to replace

With the ignition turned on short out the wire from the sender unit, if the gauge reading goes right up you have a flawed sender easy to replace, if not it can be a broken wire or a dud gauge not so easy.But most probably it'll be a flawed sender unit, good luck..
