My transmission liquid is kinda brown what does that mean???

That means it's dirty and needs to be totally flushed out before you start doing serious damage to the transmission.

Transmission liquid loses its capability to lubricate also as move heat. This causes extra wear on the interior clutches and gears.

Time to flush it and there's a difference between a service and a flush. Flush will cost more but it's the better way to go and Mitsubishi takes special liquid.

Transmission liquid has a reddish dye added to it to distinguish it from other engine oils. After a time period that dye breaks down and discolored by heat or clutch material. Change the oil and filter if possible . If your not feeling any signs of transmission slippage, then you will not be wasting your money on the oil change

it's time for transmission liquid service. do it soon for a cheap cost of service or use up spend thousand of dollars afterward. transmission liquid should be changed every 50000 miles.

That said, here is some generic advice.

If auto, then the liquid should be red as was pointed out. make sure you replace using a Mitsu particular transmission liquid or you could end up destroying your transmission.

As for filter changes, some filters simply have to be cleaned/washed, while others may have to be changed.
