New Beetle Owner Satisfaction?

Those of you that own New Beetles will you tell me how you like them? Have you had big problems with them? Are they easy to drive? What do you like and dislike about the car?

I have got a 2006 and I love it. Only problem I had was the hatch lock on it was not assembled right and it got stuck, but they fixed it now and sent me a T shirt and a $10 Starbucks gift card for my trouble. They get great gas mileage, and the only word I can think to describe how they drive is "zippy". The handling is really tight and they have a comfy ride. I have had it since October and I do not think I want another car. Dislikes.there is not a key to open the hatch with, you either have to use your key or the switch on the inside. I do not like the cupholders both little gripes. My major issue is how the front is made.of course, I learned late. How it sits so low on the ground, it gets little picks in the paint from regular road wear. I just bought a bra for mine to help against that.

A friend of mine bought a 2003 beetle brand new and had tons of problems with the car. Not sure if these things have been fixed, but he was unhappy with the car. I could check out buyer Reports for more information on the 2006 models.

I have a 2006 and have had no problems with it!
