Opinions about Jeep great Cherokees? |
|
I'm considering purchasing a '04 Jeep great Cherokee with 29k miles on it and has been interested to know if anybody out there who has a great Cherokee has had any problems or not with theirs and how they like it. it is a V8 with full time all wheel drive which I am not crazy about with gas prices being what they're but I am interested to know what current or past holders think.

i have only driven jeep cherokees for the past twelve years.
they are excellent suv's..but as projected..the gas..for short trips around town..adds up.
the best in snowstorms although..and flooded roads in rainstorms.

I just bought a 2004 great Cherokee. So far, I love it. I share your concern about gas prices. luckily, I can use just the rear wheel drive when the weather is okay, and it is a V6. But I wonder how much mileage I'll lose when I switch to full time 4WD.
It's a tradeoff. Do you want comfort or savings? We opted for comfort. May have been a mistake.

I have a 2001 great cherokee. they're great cars if you do the normal maintenance. I love it because it handles well in the city but once you hit the trails its a offroad machine. Its kinda like having two cars in one. The gas isn't the best although I have to admit. I haven't had any problems with mine still though I do have the I6. I wouldnt worry about the full time 4wd too much. although I says full time it's really in 2wd till you need it. they're great cars although and you'll love it.

They aren't great on gas mileage, but they're great cars, and pretty easy to maintain.

Take one for a test drive and do some research before you buy one. You can read some user reviews from some people who own a jeep cherokee here http://www.buyingadvice.com/
