The Audi 100 configuration front wheel drive longitudinal engine isn't an easy one to go with anything but the original engine/transmission. but there are some afterward Audi motors that will fit. attempt the Audi 80 or the Audi 4000 as they were called in the US. They have the same configuration.

Go to the Hemmings web site and look up a contact for one of the Audi holders clubs. they are the experts.
