What is you.crazy. you must use Premium or you'll void the warranty and screw your car up. do not abuse that little sweet ride by settling for anything less.

No, really, you may be able to use diesel, it runs cleaner and it should cost quite less .

Merceded recommends premium gas in most makes and models. You may attempt to look for ways to save on your gas here is a good article nationwidebillrelief.com/gastips.htmlnationwidebillrelief.com/gastips.html">nationwidebillrelief.com/gast.

Many cars can use regular, but you'll notice less power. But before you attempt this, check your owner's manual. If it says that premium is obliged, using regular may void the warranty. If it only says that premium is "recommended," you may be able to give it a shot. I could let the tank get low on gas, then purchase only about half a tank of regular unleaded, or less. See how that feels to drive. Remember that you have to give it some miles to use up the left over premium in the gas line. If you're pleased with teh performance, then go for it. If not, fill the tank up with premium, and let them mix back together.

for as long as it is not under 93 octane.
if you want to use lower than 93, ask the dealer to change the adaptation value of ignition using diagnostic computer to avoid the check engine light coming "on" and avvoid engine knocking/pinging.
the fuel enrichment should be adjusted to stage 1, and sensitivity value to +0.5 milliseconds.

I called Mercedes and asked about octane prerequisites on a 2004 c230. They said that you may attempt using a mid range octane gas like Plus but majority of people who attempt it end up going back to the premium because it observably lowers the car's performance and causes it to knock. If you do attempt a lower octane gas, wait till the car is running on fumes before switching, then only put in a couple gallons or so for the 1st time. That way, if you notice a problem, you may be able to switch back to the premium easier.

They also said do not attempt anything under 91 octane.

Yep, sure do.

However, that said, your Benz will run carefully on regular the computer will reimburse for the lower octane, but it'll get awful gas mileage. Mine gets 30 35 on the highway running premuim, but 16 17 on regular. The cost per mile is lower on premium than it's on regular do the math yourself and you will see that this is true.

On regular, the power will also SUCK BADLY. Little old ladies in 20 year old Yugos will blow your doors off. you will feel like you are driving an old Chevy Vega or Ford Pinto.

Sorry, you do. Im in Beverly Hills, and Gas is costly. awful, but you have to use high octane. you'll mess up your engine, all mercedes are intended to be the best, and run on the best. you'll end up spending more money on repairs. The c230 gets great gas milage nevertheless and whoops any honda or prius a . Just pay the extra or get a toyota.

Like everyone else said, yes. If your owner's manual says to use premium fuel, then by all means, use premium fuel.

I have an '02 S600, so not only must I use Premium fuel, I have to be sure it is at least 93 octane, and not 91. I have noticed a big difference between the two in my performance.

if you can not pay for the gas then how were you able to purchase the car, but better still how will you be able to pay for the expences afterward on. as for the gas, ask the dealer becuase that way you do not learn peoples opinions and learn the real deal.
