More info could help, like after it stalls does it restart?
Most common because for this is the fuel filter being clogged.
replace fuel filter.
if problem persists test fuel pump pressure and volume.
if fuel pump tests OK
check for water in fuel.
if there's water in fuel add a can of fuel dryer like heat to your tank.
also a not so common problem that can because this could be the ignition coil if needed check it also.

the distributor is going bad in it this is a common because with the probes, i sold mine because of this, they wanted 500 for a used distributor for it,,but that is what is causing this to happen, good luck.

I had the same problem with a 98 chevy malibu LS... I replaced the air filter with a power adder air filter, replaced the spark plugs and wires, ran dry gas in it, and fuel injector cleaner. I did this all in one month after all that it hasnt done it since

IF you checked the evident things like fuel filter, distributor Cap, etc. then more than probably, it's either the EGR Valve. If the car runs for a while, then on the freeway starts to cut out like its running out of gas...then I could say the EGR valve. I could also check the coil or coil packs.
If but, it stalls at stop lights while driving through town, I could say O2 sensor.
Good luck to you.
